“People matter to God.”

This is one truth that if we really, first of all, believed it about ourselves it would make all the difference in how we view ourselves and then in turned viewed others. Then second of all if we really believed that other people, no matter who they are and what they look like and what they believe or stand for, really matter to God then we would quit writing all of that stuff that we do on social media about other people.

People matter to God. This is a truth that God proved by sending His Son to die on a cross. And the truth is the people who killed His Son also mattered to Him.

John says, “People matter to God. Depressed people. Educated people. Divorced people. People with different politics from yours. They matter to God. Conservative people and liberal people. Muslims. Atheists. New Age people. Every color of skin. Asian people. Hispanic people. Caucasian people. African American people. Gay people. Old people. People matter to God. Every one of them.”

And what would happen to the world today that God has called us to love like He loves us if we really did love them?

Let’s quit running away from the people that God loves and reach out to them as He has reached out to us.

So how will this thought make a difference in how you treat yourself and other people?

“When you understand that life is a test, you realize that nothing is insignificant in your life.”

To realize that from God’s perspective life is a test goes a long way in determining how you handle your life. It is important to see that in testing your character is both developed and revealed. Rick goes on to say that “even the smallest incident has significance for your character development. Every day is an important day, and every second is a growth opportunity to deepen your character, to demonstrate love, or to depend on God.” So there is a God purpose behind each situation in your life. Rick posed this question at the end of his chapter, You Are Not an Accident. In this chapter he deals with the fact that God created you the way you are with a purpose. In other words you are not an accident. I am also reading the Apostle John’s view of Jesus and what He said and did while He was here on earth. In the beginning of Chapter 9 there is a story about a blind man. And the disciples who were with Him asked Him a good question, “Who sinned, this man or his parents that he was born blind? ” Have you ever asked the same thing about something in you that you don’t like?
